Last week Dydacomp Technical support received a few calls from clients wondering why some SiteLINK stores were down. Our SiteLINK technical support reps got right to work to resolve the issues, only to discover that everything on Dydacomp’s end was running up to speed. After further research, we discovered that Network Solutions (NetSol) suffered from two distributed denial of service attacks (DDoS) on their network on June 20 and 21 (Monday and Tuesday of last week).
For SiteLINK users, this meant that sites hosted by NetSol or with their DNS hosted by NetSol saw random outages while those attacks were happening. A number of SiteLINK clients have their DNS hosted by NetSol, which is why we saw a lot of monitoring program messages over the past few days. The easiest way to verify who your SiteLINK store’s DNS host is by going to http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/index.jsp and entering your SiteLINK store’s URL. If the “Domain Servers” show *.WORLDNIC.COM then the DNS host is NetSol. Below is a screenshot of this from the NetSol whois report:

The issue should be resolved by now and we will continue to keep you updated on happenings that affect SiteLINK eCommerce sites.
